The Red Cross
The Red Cross is a humanitarian organization that helps people in the event of a disaster or emergency. Their mission is: The Red Cross, born of a desire to bring assistance without discrimination to the wounded on the battlefield, endeavors—in its international and national capacity—to prevent and alleviate human suffering wherever it may be found. Its purpose is to protect life and health and to ensure respect for the human being. It promotes mutual understanding, friendship, cooperation and lasting peace amongst all peoples. Recently, they provided aid in the victims of the Beirut Explosion by providing first aid, food and shelter. They make no discrimination as to nationality, race, religious beliefs, class or political opinions. The Red Cross is a worldwide institution in which all societies have equal status and share equal responsibilities and duties in helping each other.
The NRDC
The NRDC, or National Resources Defence Council is an international environmental advocacy group with the purpose to safeguard the Earth: its people, its plants and animals and the natural systems on which all life depends. Since 1970, they have ensured the rights of all people to clean air, clean water, and healthy communities. They work to combat climate change, clean up the oceans, and to preserve the wild.
Americares
Americares is a health-focused relief and development organization that responds to people affected by poverty or disaster with life-changing medicine, medical supplies and health programs. They provide millions of people around the world Access to Medicine and supplies and deliver quality health care for people who have none. They have recently contributed to helping those caught in the Beruit Explosion and Hurrican Isaias . But they also work all over the work such as in Asia, Eurasia, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East.
Human Rights Watch
The Human Rights Watch is an organization that investigates and reports on abuses happening in all corners of the world. They are roughly 450 people of 70-plus nationalities who are country experts, lawyers, journalists, and others who work to protect the most at risk, from vulnerable minorities and civilians in wartime, to refugees and children in need. They meet with governments, the United Nations, rebel groups, corporations, and others to see that policy is changed, laws are enforced, and justice is served. They worked on Syria's Civil War, the Rohingya Crisis, South Sudan's Conflict and Refugees in Europe. They were founded in 1978 and you can support them here.
The American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society is an organization that is dedicated to helping people who face cancer. Learn about cancer research, patient services, early detection, treatment and education. Established in 1913, the society is organized into six geographical regions of both medical and lay volunteers operating in more than 250 Regional offices throughout the United States.
